Parker Hannifan in Manitowoc, WI produces hose couplings and other fittings. Due to the manufacturing process their concrete was covered with oil and fluids. They had an issue with slipperiness and oil saturation. Protective Coating Specialists, Inc met with Parker and presented a solution to resolve the slippery and oil saturated floors. In conjunction with Koester (oil removal system) and Rust Oleum products we were able to solve their problem and provide a new floor with a 10-year warranty. The Oil removal system removed up to 2” of oil from the slab and allowed us to shot blast and apply a ¼’ floor system with broadcast of Wedron 480 and oxide for non-slip. We have worked in multiple plants providing solutions for Parker Hannifan in Michigan, Pennsylvania, Iowa & Wisconsin.
Many manufacturing facilities spend countless hours and dollars applying line striping that keeps peeling. Sturm Foods in Manawa, WI had thousands of lineal feet of line striping to be completed but wanted a permanent solution. We suggested Rust Oleum 9800 urethane mastic but the key was the prep.
High traffic areas we applied a clear coat over the safety yellow lines plus installed safety red STOP Signs at all crossings and overhead doors. The permanent lines have saved time and money so the maintenance crews can focus on the equipment and production needs.
The end result we were able to provide permanent lines creating safe walking corridors for employees and guests.
Green Bay Packaging approached Sika USA during flight operations trade-show in Florida. They worked directly with Green Bay Packaging representative Robin Richard to design a high performance hangar system. Sika only recommend Protective Coating Specialists, Inc of Appleton, WI to complete the install. The project took two weeks to complete from start to finish. The floor was shot blasted to provide proper profile with detailed diamond grinding around all perimeter walls and trench drains. We installed a moisture primer with a unique flexible membrane to absorb impacts. The final floor was 50-mils thick and the topcoat was a high gloss, chemical and UV resistant topcoat. The great looking floor was finished with a large 20’x15’ Green Bay Packaging logo centered in the hangar floor. Great looking floor with a little pizzazz!
